The Intelligent sonic technology automatically reads your face and adjusts the power of its 10,000 micro vibrations per stroke to the density of your beard. The twin foils and integrated middle cutter work together to provide an outstanding close shave. The OptiFoil cutting elements are optimised to cut more hair, and closer than ever before, and the ActiLift middle trimmer actively lifts and cuts flat-lying hair in those hard-to-reach places that most other shavers struggle to reach.
In addition to this advanced shaving technology, the Braun Series 7 790cc-4 comes with the Clean & Renew system, which is currently the world’s only alcohol-based 5-step cleaning centre. It cleans, charges, lubricates and dries your shaver at the touch of a button and tests have shown it is 10 times more hygienic than simply rinsing under running water.
As if this wasn’t enough, the shaver also includes a precision long hair trimmer, an advanced display for battery, charging and hygiene status. It is also 100% waterproof too, although if you want to use it under the shower, you should consider the Braun Series 7 799. This shaver has the same features as the 790cc-4, as well as Wet & Dry functionality for use under the shower.
The rechargeable 3.6V Li-Ion battery takes 1 hour to charge, and this provides up to 50 minutes of cordless shaving. A quick 5 minute charge will be sufficient for a single shave, and the shaver will work both plugged in to the mains, and cordless.

The Braun Series 7 790cc-4 is currently the best electric shaver that we have reviewed. It isn’t cheap, but it is packed full of the most advanced shaving technology from shaving experts Braun. If you want the ultimate electric shaver, and aren’t worried about the price then you should definitely consider this shaver. The only downside (aside from the hefty price-tag) is that it isn’t designed to be used under the shower. If a Wet & Dry shaver is important to you, then you should look at the Braun Series 7 799 instead. This shaver has all the features of the 790cc-4, with the added bonus of being a Wet & Dry shaver too, although it is slightly more expensive.
